The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has firmly stated that he has no interest in seeking any political appointment from the ruling government. According to him, his sole priority remains the development and well-being of his constituents.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, A Plus emphasized his unwavering focus:
“I don’t like any appointment. My focus is solely on Gomoa Central. I don’t want anything to distract me from the work I have to do for my people.”
He further recounted a past interaction with former President John Mahama, where he made his stance clear:
“It’s not for you to tell Mahama or anyone else to give you an appointment. I am here to serve my people in Gomoa Central. I told the President, ‘I don’t want to be a minister. I want to focus on my work as an MP.’”
Reflecting on his childhood in Asebu, A Plus shared personal experiences that shaped his understanding of societal hardships:
“Growing up at Asebu, we saw a lot. Even those of us who had something, we felt the hardships. So, I understand how those who don’t have must feel.”
As a representative of Gomoa Central, A Plus pledged to make a tangible difference in the lives of his people:
“As your brother, now an MP, I want to change the lives of the people of Gomoa Central. I will do whatever I can to alleviate the suffering of those who are struggling. I want to make sure that even those who don’t have, at least during my time, will have what they need.”
Reaffirming his dedication, he concluded:
“All my focus is on Gomoa Central. No distractions, no appointments. My work is for the people.”
