Renowned Nigerian musician 9ice, born Abolore Adegbola Akande, has made some startling revelations regarding the spiritual nature of music and the unseen forces that influence the industry.
According to the singer, music is deeply spiritual, and those who take it for granted should not assume that their success, particularly their ability to draw massive crowds at concerts is entirely by their own doing.
“The devil controls music,” 9ice claimed during an interview on The Nancy Isime Show. There are musicians who are fully aware of this reality but pretend as though they don’t know. Commanding huge numbers in concerts is no ordinary feat.”
The “Gongo Aso” hitmaker disclosed that he had once been a victim of mysterious experiences linked to his musical journey.
“I’ve been a victim of certain experiences. I once vomited blood in my own home. I know what I’m talking about. There are even more experiences I haven’t shared,” he revealed.

In 2008, 9ice gained widespread recognition with the release of his hit single “Gongo Aso.” That same year, he performed at the Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Tribute Concert in London.
His outstanding contributions to music earned him the Best Hip Hop Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2008. The following year, Gongo Aso won him four awards at the 2009 Hip Hop World Awards (now known as The Headies).
