Ghanaian rapper Medikal has stirred conversation online after boldly declaring that his new single is the lifeline of the country’s music scene in 2025.
According to him, “Shoulder”—a collaboration with Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM—has breathed new energy into Ghanaian music this year.
“Shoulder saved the Ghanaian music scene this year”.
In an X post dated August 10, 2025, he claimed the track had “saved” the industry, touting his consistency in releasing hits while maintaining street credibility as a rare skill.
“Mastering the art of dropping hits, staying consistent, and delivering bars for the streets is a whole different quest. Y’all don’t deserve me tbh,” he wrote.
His comments have split opinion among fans. Supporters agree the song has been a major success, while critics argue it’s an exaggeration to call it the industry’s savior.
Critics point to Black Sherif’s chart-topping Iron Boy album and Moliy’s internationally buzzing ‘Shake It to the Max’ as equally dominant forces in 2025’s music landscape.
The debate has since reignited the conversation about who truly holds the crown in Ghana’s current music scene.
