At least fifteen individuals have lost their lives in a tragic road accident that occurred at Atwedie on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.
The fatal incident took place on 28th July 2025 and involved a mini bus and a fuel tanker.
According to eyewitness accounts, the mini bus reportedly conveying members of the Saviour Church of Ghana from an annual church meeting held in the Eastern Region was involved in a head-on collision with the tanker.
All 15 deceased are believed to have been members of the church group returning from the religious event.
This heartbreaking incident adds to the growing number of fatal road accidents recorded along the Accra–Kumasi Highway, raising renewed concerns about road safety measures and enforcement on one of Ghana’s busiest routes.
